If you compare the birth rate between Canada, Japan and Mali you can see that Japan has the lowest birth rate, this would be because a good chunk of their population is elderly and cannot have children.

Canada has a higher birth rate than Japan but a lower birth rate than Mali. This would be because people in Canada still want kids but a majority of Canada's population is younger immigrants looking for jobs.

Mali has the highest birth rate out of the three. The birth rate is higher because they do not live as long, so to keep their population they have to have multiple kids per family.

Life Expectancy

The percentage of people in Canada aged 75 and above is 8.6%. This would be because of our health care and retirement homes trying to help people live longer in a safe healthy environment.

The percentage of people in Japan aged 75 and above is 17%. Japan's population has the most people's 75+ because of their healthy living styles. Many people in Japan are very active and eat healthy so they live longer.

The percentage of people in Mali aged 75 and above is 0.6%. Mali's population does not live as long as the rest of the countries, this might be because they don't have as much health care and often have many more kids.

In Canada 35% of the population is a part of the total dependency load. This would be because we have a good amount of children and elderly. Not too much of the population is dependent on those who work.

In Japan 41.6% of the population is a part of the total dependency load. Japan has an older population so a majority of them depend on those who work and pay taxes as many of them cannot work themselves.

In Mali 49.2 is a part of the total dependency load. This would be because in Mali a majority of their population is children who cannot work an pay taxes.

The total dependency load is the amount of people dependent on people who work (0-14 and 65+)

Birth rate is an educated guess of how often children are born in a specific area.

LIFE EXPECTANCY

Life expectancy is how the general age that people live up to/the general age that people die.

Total Dependency Load - We calculate this information so that we can see how much money is needed for what things. The more people dependent on the people who pay taxes the more of that money gets put into systems for the people who need it.

Birth rate - Countries need to see their birth rate to be able to determine how many people will be going into schools and will be able to get free luxuries (things adults would have to pay for) for example, kids clothes have less taxes added to them and children 12 and under do not have to pay for public transit.

Life Expectancy - It is good to know the general life expectancy so that you can determine how many people will be going into retirement homes and how long most of them will have to stay for. Being able to determine how long people will stay can give them time to prepare and make changes. It can help them determine how many retirement homes will be needed and how much space each of them will need. It also helps determine how much taxes will have to be put into the retirement homes and how many people will have to be paid for working there.
