You can do a search, click into the Science Techbook,  create a class, a board, Global News and On this Day. Remember that On this day has a SCIENCE TAB too!

Use a variety of search tools to locate video segments, images, songs, sound effects, encyclopedia articles, audio files, events, lesson plans, and animations.
When search results are displayed, you can narrow your results by filtering for grade level, resource type, or instructional materials.

Content Collections are featured above the search results when a topic that has a Content Collection is entered into keyword search. Search results can be filtered for Content Collections by selecting Lesson Materials > Content Collections.Check out Outrageous Acts of Science and Head Rush video collections by typing the name into the Search bar.

Assessment Builder :This asset allows you to make a practice  assessment  or a standard based assessment .  You can use the drop down on My Assessment tab to see the School assessment and district assessments. Check out above the tab ( To the right of the words Assessment Builder) at the TEI. ( Technology Enhanced Items )

Assignment Builder: Create new assignments  with this asset. There is a User Guide located at the top for a quick reference. Also you can access the school , district, and Discovery Education assignments. When you view the assignments you will see the topic, grade level, and when it was created. You can also edit and copy it.

Board Builder: This is a great tool that students and teachers both can create. It provides engaging activities for the students to dive a little deeper in a topic. There is a Before You Start button to show you the steps to create a board. Be sure to  search board builders and you will find a large assortment of them already created by teachers and students!
Search by topic and filter by clicking on Boards.

Writing Prompt Builder:  This allows you to create writing prompts for your students. There is a user guide as well as a Help button that gives you even more information. You can also view and assign School, District, and Discovery Education Writing Prompts

QuickList allows you to add resources to a list which is always visible at the bottom of your screen. QuickList is helpful for curating resources as you sort search results to compare or review later.
Resources added to the QuickList will remain until they are removed, even if you log out of Discovery Education.
To add a video, song, image, exploration, or any other resource to your QuickList,  click the “+” on the resource on the search result page or resource page.

To view your QuickList, click on the QuickListbutton at the bottom of your screen to expand (click again to collapse). To remove an item from the QuickList, click the “X” on the resource, or use the List Options to remove and complete other bulk actions.

My Content works just like the folder structure on your computer. You can create sub-folders to create hierarchies within content, grade levels, or courses. You can also choose to share resources with your school and your district

Adding resources to My Content does not initiate the playing or downloading of a resource. The purpose of My Content is to bookmark the resource for easy retrieval. All files and projects within My Content are stored on the Discovery Education servers.

To add resources to My Content:

  1. Locate a media resource that you wish to add to My Content.
    • On a search results page, select the downward facing triangle on a resource and choose Add to My Content
    • On the video player page, click My Content under the video player
    • For all other resources, click the downward facing triangle to the right of the + on a resource and choose Add to My Content
  2. In the window that appears, add the resource to the My Content default folder, select a different folder, or add it to a new folder.
  3. If you select Add to New Folder, follow the prompts to enter a folder name and folder location – remember, My Contentallows you to create folders within other folders.
  4. Click Add, and the window will display a confirmation message.
  5. To access your content, click on the My Content link on the dark grey navigation bar at the top of any Discovery Education page.

Once you have added media resources to My Content, you can use the pull-down menu or drag-and-drop to copy, move, edit, preview, and delete them at any time. You can also sort your resources by type, name, creation date, subject, or grade by clicking on the appropriate column heade
