It will allow students to gain excitement and knowledge of different cities around the world where they will research customs/traditions/do & taboos of travelling abroad. They will then created a presentation with video of travelling to that country. Perhaps use the green screen to provide a background of the city for their video??

1 – Create a Google doc spreadsheet that had all student numbers and 5 columns for them to enter in they heart rates at 5 different intervals.

2 – Create a graph on a separate sheet that would pull down all of the data from the 5 columns and display it as a line graph.

3– Send this document to all of the students via their Gmail accounts.

4 – Students log into a computer and opened the spreadsheet and found their names.

5– Take a resting heart rate using the radial/carotid pulse and enter this into the ‘pulse 1’ column.

6 – Complete a fitness activity for 3 mins with the whole class working at the same intensity.

7 – Take pulse and entered this into the ‘pulse 2’ column. Present information on projector so students can see results in real time.

8– Finally, take 3 more heart rate readings at different stages such as 1 minute, 3 minute and 5 minutes and enter these into the appropriate columns.

We created a Student/ Teacher Collaborative Running Portfolio for teachers and the student to access throughout the year. We will store the Running Powerpoint on Google Classroom. Students will blog, answer questions, upload videos, pictures, songs throughout the year. This will help us teachers collect data on academics, behaviors, cool down methods, as well as getting to know the students better. < We can use this data for recording in IEPs. Students can use the portfolio as a running academic, behavioral and emotional blog private to the teacher and student.

As a getting-to-know you activity, we will have students write Biopoems (poems about who they are/where they come from, etc). We will give them the option of reading their poem aloud to the class or using flipgrid to record themselves reading their poem to be shown to the class.

Several ideas: I want to incorporate multimedia including videos into my classroom. Dan Meyer's blog has some activities that I would use. There is one activity that uses boxes of girl scout cookies to approximate volume. I also found a video that uses classic video games to introduce transformations.

Other ways I plan to use technology is by developing a google classroom environment, using khan academy activities in class, and connecting algebra to coding.
