The meeting was an assembly of representatives from all three Estates. They held the meeting to get approval for the tax reform. This means that the first and second Estates will have to pay taxes. They have to pay taxes because the king needs money to help pay for stuff.

Some of his advisers warned him that him and his family were in danger. On June 1791, the Royal family tries to escape from France to Austrian Netherlands. As they reached the boarder they were approached by a mob and brought back to Pairs. King Louis attempted to escape increased the influence of his radical enemies in the government and sealed his fate.
