What is a bad placement?&nbsp;<br>- is it an area you enjoy?<br>- is it based on what clinical skills opportunities you have had?<br>- is it practice culture?<br><br>EMS: RCVS it is for experience, not teaching - should be looking at how a practice works, not necessarily learning (vet school is teaching) - helps you make decisions on where you want to work<br><br>Willingness to muck in with the non vet tasks&nbsp;<br>Returning to same placement and building up a trust&nbsp;<br>Setting expectations of students and hosts - ask what the student would like to get out of it - needs to work on communication prior to starting placement&nbsp;<br>Engagement in that type of ems&nbsp;<br>Personality of student and how it is compatible it is to the practice culture&nbsp;<br>Impact of social media/vet student community - benchmarking against others as to what they have done (competitive/fear of failure)&nbsp;<br>Refocusing on professional skills&nbsp;<br>Social factors: close to home, cost to drive/stay there <br>Impact of positive/negative AHEMS placements&nbsp;<br><br>Potential lack of awareness of it being an opportunity which is given - the host is under no obligation to take you.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
