In this section of the Padlet, reader observes multiple phonemic activities that teachers can incorporate with their students. Yolanda Soryl a teacher has a series of videos that works on phonemic awareness. These videos work well when you are doing it with a small group, best way is with rotational stations. Yolanda used games where they clap the phoneme. Next game is closing their eyes and they hear the word guess the number of the phonemes on their shoulder. Another fun interactive game was change the word. The teacher takes the first sound off the word and they figure out the word by listening to rest of the phonemes.

Melissa Butler video was filled with a lot high energy and great phonemic awareness activities. This game where she chopped the wood was awesome. As the wood would symbolize the word and your hand movement making the jester to chop breakout phonetic sounds to sound out the word. In the LDA link, teaching students the alphabet it goes beyond knowing the names of the letters. Students develop a sense purpose behind the letters. When teaching students with learning disabilities it takes time and special help for the student(s) need to understand. Explain to students with learning disabilities need a demonstration of how using manipulative can break small sentences down to words. Another example of demonstrating how to break words up is with clapping out the word. As a recent long term substitute for a special education, I seen classes develop fluent reflective reading by reading the news stories everyday. First hand I seen this workout for students who have learning disabilities.

In this section of Phonemic awareness and phonic. The first difference I seem to grasp is that phonemic awareness focuses on the sound of the Spoke Word. phonics emphasizes the spelling pattern of the word. Phonemic Awareness deals with understanding words are made up of smaller units of phonemes. Phonics rules means students are able to sound words out. Phonemic awareness prepares student to learn how to read.

It was real to hear how those teachers were treated as students. I always try to make my students feel safe warm and welcome now I really understand also do not judge, we all bring something to learn from just different ways.
