There is very little known about the Indus Valley civilization. But scientists are fascinated by the little we do know. More the 4,000 years ago, people of the Indus Valley were able to build huge, planned cities, with straight streets, and brick homes with private drinking wells and bathrooms.

Most of what we know about the Indus Valley civilization comes from the remains of the cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-Dero. Scientists have excavated other cities from the same period. All together the civilizations are known as the Indus Valley Civilization or the Harappan Civilization. This civilization existed from 3,000-2,500 BC to around 1,500 BC.
