The theme of Hamlet by William Shakespeare is that nobody seeking revenge emerges unscathed.

Claudius is finally realising that his actions have consequences, and he has killed his own wife on accident. He thought he would just kill Hamlet with no repercussions, but he could not.

"I am dead Horatio,- wretched queen, adieu." (5.2.365)

Hamlet dies after killing the King. If he had just listened to the ghost and killed Claudius rapidly, he would still be alive. Getting revenge in the first place is what ultimately led to his death.

Scar is similar to Claudius as they both are evil and end up dying because of their malicious actions.

Anakin kills the younglings. This is one of his first steps to becoming Darth Vader. He eventually falls into the lava, deservingly.
