She developed her doctoral thesis in the side of Extragalactic Astrophysic, in the IAC and in the Paris Astrophysic Institute.

Likewise, she is part of the organic group of the IAC. She is also member of the Sky Quality Group in the IAC and a member of the Star Formation Explosion Group.

Some of her works have been the selection of the place for the Great Canary Telescope and the participation in the committees of selection of the place of the European Extremely Large Telescope. At the moment, she is collaborating with the teams of site testing of the Cherenkov Telescope Array, of the European Solar Telescope and of the Thirty Meter Telescope.

Scientific Pérez is also a national auditor and International of Reserves and touristic destinations Starlight, certification of the sky quality that gives the Starlight Fundation.
She is also an adviser and teacher of the guides courses. Monitor and auditor of Starlight.

She is an Astronomy professor in the university for adults and seniors at the university of La Laguna.
