When i was in primary 4, my family and i traveled to Indonesia. I was so excited to go there that i had packed my suitcase a week before we left. When we arrived there, i was not disappointed, it was everything i could have imagined and more. The hotel i stayed at, the people there, the scenery and of course, the food! I have a deep liking for Indonesian cuisine and i still love Indonesian BBQ curry rice. I had never enjoyed a trip so much in my life before. That’s why I decided to make this 3D art of the Indonesian flag.

Reflection:
The workshop was really ednjoyable and i am quite satisfied with my end result. I enjoy taking pictures because i can capture the moment and take photos of stuff i think are pretty. Most of the photos i take have meaning and memories attached to them. I chose to make the books because i read on a daily basis and enjoy it. Reading helps me to relax and forget some of the worries i have.

Reflection: overall, making this artwork was a bit of challenge because i found it tough to control the pen. I was scared of burning myself and it was very messy. However, after i got the hang of it, i started to enjoy it and eventually completed it. Write-Up (50-80 words): As the saying goes “I am what I eat”. I love Japanese cuisine and I made a platter of my favourite dishes. My work consists of a brown plate with 3 types of sushi, raw salmon , tamago( like sweet egg) and Kani (crabmeat) with some wasabi and soy sauce on the side. Every time I go to a Japanese restaurant, i would always order shrimp tempura on the side along with some Tentsuyu sauce (made with dashi, soy sauce, mirin and sugar) . Lastly, my favourite dessert is mochi as i love the variation of flavours and available, there’s also some chocolate on the side. :)

I planned to make the pizza bigger and add more of my favourite things but i was running out of time and filament. Reflection: I really enjoyed doing 3D art and it was a great first time experience using a 3D pen. There were ups and downs during the makings of it. Theme Chosen: Our hillgrove Our pride

Write-Up (50-80 words):The school crest is set against a clear background. It is distinctively marked by a cluster of trees with trunks that are intertwined. This symbolises a grove of trees, as inspired by the name of the school. The interlinking of the trunks represents the active interactions between Hillgrove teachers and students. It also signifies the moral and spiritual support students draw from one another.  

The slant at the base suggests that the trees have firm roots and stand tall on a slope of a hill. This is another reference to the school’s name.   

The large crown of eighteen leaves in varying sizes represents healthy growth so that this produces shelter and shade for those who seek it. The shared foliage signifies the common goal and unity that staff and students share.   

 Set together, the design elements express the school’s desire to be a safe environment that encourages young people to grow in values and skills needed to face life’s challenges.
