Currently nurses and doctors have two dimensional images in which they diagnose a health issue with a patient. With the new technology of 3-D printing they can transform a two dimensional image into an actual organ in which they can then use to formulate a best practice plan for treatment. It is important to note that although 3-D printing has been available since the 80's it was not used until 2015 for a surgical team performing a complicated spinal procedure.
