I began by looking into the idea of producing a range of adaptive clothing designed specifically for those with disabilities. I found inspiration for this idea from a news article I read a while ago about the lack of clothing ranges available for disabled people. This mentioned some of the issues faced by those with disabilities and how they are often disregarded by fashion brands.

I decided to choose ASOS as my brand that I will produce the adaptive range for. ASOS are one of the world’s leading online retailers and a lot of people resonate with their brand values. They currently offer extended ranges such as Tall and Petite however I thought that producing an adaptive range would broaden their target audience and prove to be successful amongst their younger customer base.

I created a mind-map of my initial thoughts and ideas for the INP and started finding articles and resources which could be useful to me throughout this project and uploading them onto the INP Padlet.

In the second week of the INP I continued to research more into the adaptive clothing market before finalising my concept and creating the first draft of my business plan, which includes a weekly planner that breaks down the workload over the course of the 8 weeks we have been given. I then began research into my chosen brand, ASOS, and started my brand summary and timeline. I used the ASOS website for most of my research as well as articles from YouGov and Drapers.
