The creature is created as a fully grown newborn; regardless of his size, he knows nothing of the world. It can be argued that the creature only learns from his good or bad experiences and observations. When Frankenstein rejected and abandoned the creature, he becomes angry and resentful. In addition to this, when the creature encounters people he discovers his self-hatred and need for vengeance because of their reactions to his appearance.
Ruby.

The creature learned to care about others from the family in the woods. This is shown when the creature stops stealing their food when he realises that doing so causes them pain. Only when he is treated like a monster is when the creature start to act like a monster. Therefore, the influences of others does affect the creatures behaviour.

In Frankenstein, victor creates a living being he does not however doesn't succeed at creating a human being. Because of this, the creature becomes excluded from society as he is 'different' from everyone else so the creature tries to humanise himself through the knowledge of language and by analysing how the family in the woods acts around him. As the creature attempts to join and be a part of the community, he is met with constant and violent rejection. This makes it hard for the creature to relate to humans so therefore can't be a human himself. The rejection he faces through his life makes him act in the certain way he does as he doesn't know how else to act because he is unable to relate and connect with humans.
Rachel 😁
