SARS-Cov2 is a rna virus that attacks the lungs mainly , but occasionally the upper respiratory tract in some variants.
The virulence of this virus comes from its ability to spread quickly between individuals and inside the respiratory system, regarding molecular virology , this virulence is based on the spike protein on the envelop of the virus which has high attachment ability to respiratory system cells.
Historically , this is a new generation of corona viruses after MERS and SARS in 2014.
