I love the examples you provide and how you explain each stage of the process to write them. It was an excellent format today with instruction, time to work, then back together for sharing and closure. The links that you have provided for the examples, templates, and articles are of great help as it is very time-consuming (as you know) to hunt down those resources and find the most helpful ones. Thank you for doing that work for us and sharing them with us.
My goal from here is to write rubrics for each of the disciplinary skills standards for my three SS courses. I really want to start co-creating the learning targets with my students. I am very much looking forward to having my students self-evaluate and justify their own work using rubrics.

Overwhelmed. Most likely I am going to big picture. So many of my standards lead into others I start to get lost when I work on breaking one down. I tried to start with a priority standard. Thinking about what is in the standard by parts and pieces. There are so many things in even that one math standard that are not spelled out in that are taught or need to be taught that I get bogged down.

My goal is to identify my priority standards. Identify the main areas that need to be covered for the year. Where do the priority standards fall into those themes, then break down the priority standards.

THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO!

If I can keep the motivation going, I feel like I'm on my way to making better rubrics. I also need to find the time... :)

I don't think I have questions right now, but I may send you a few rubrics to look over. Thanks!

Thank you for helping me whittle down the Science standards. I think I just needed the affirmation that the way I was thinking and doing standards right now was okay. This helped me just put it into a rubric form. I think that identifying learning targets in my own words was extremely helpful and will help me move forward. I can see my self thinking of the big picture then plugging the standard in and identifying the learning targets from there. After the learning targets are identified then it is time to take it to the students. I think that is where I am headed. Thanks!
