         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1926, a national trade center called the Trades Union Congress tried to force the British government to not reduce the regular payment for coal miners. Many citizens were enraged because of the news which sparked many protests as seen in the photo above. Unfortunately, they failed to prevent the government to lower the average pay for coal miners due to the leaders of the trade center who did not support the strike and led the workers into failing.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

The stock market crash and the gold standard were two of the many causes of the great depression. It originated from the U.S. and spread throughout the whole world reaching England which caused financial problems and many people to get unemployed.</div>]]></description>

It first hit England when soldiers that were fighting in WWI came back from France, which was where the Influenza spread to. 228,000 people have died in England in a single year due to the pandemic.
