My Grandma used to tell me stories about her children and stories about her past. A story she often told me was about her son, she would explain that even though he wasn't there physically, that she loved him and that she knew he was always there for her. She taught me that family would always be something you could trust in and find comfort in when going through a hard time. She taught me that when someone passes away they'd always watch over you and that you would never be alone in anything tough.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because when I lost a loved one my grandmothers words that family would stay with me, and it brought me comfort knowing that I was never alone in any situation. This helped me many times throughout the years in many different scenarios it made me more confident alone and in public, it allowed me to be able to express myself in different ways.

After my grandmother had passed I eventually lost touch with my extended family, and after years i continued this path. Due to this I had grown lonely and I hung out with a crowd that wasn't the right fit. We had different morals and made some bad decisions. Eventually it had put me in a bad spot and my family helped stop me from continuing the path I was on. By telling me stories of their own and how this path wouldn't be any good for my future.

This relates to the theme because without my families confrontation and their help stray me away from that path. I would still be around the wrong crowd and I would've been stuck in a repeated cycle of unhappiness and isolation. With their help and their belief of my future, I began to fix my grades and create ideas about what I want for the future.

In summer of 9th grade I had gone through a rough time and I had began to go around my extended family more often. I started going through a healing period, in which my cousins and I had began to create a group within our family where we would talk about our beliefs. Alongside my family we began to create group chats as a bible study, and where we would discuss future plans.

This relates to the theme because my family's stern belief in our religion helped me heal from past wounds, and their help made me be able to work for a future I could look forward too.
