         <description><![CDATA[<p>GPS is the "technological backbone" that allows the Starlink constellation to function effectively. Every satellite is equipped with an onboard GPS receiver to determine its precise location and altitude, which is essential for orbit maintenance and avoiding collisions with other objects in space. Furthermore, satellites rely on the high-precision time signals from GPS atomic clocks to synchronize data transmissions across the entire network at gigabit speeds. On the ground, Starlink user terminals (dishes) use GPS to identify their own coordinates, allowing them to accurately point their electronic antennas toward the passing satellites and ensuring they operate within their permitted geographic service area. Without this constant satellite-based coordination, the seamless automation of the Starlink network would be impossible.</p>]]></description>
