The main character Cadence would love this video because it really relates to her. She has a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandmas and grandpas but they are all very different from herself. Her family, the Sinclairs, are very formal and have many rules. Some rules include, no showing a lot of emotion or always look the same with no change. Cadence is the opposite of the “perfect” person they want her to be. Cadence suffered from a head trauma that changed her from being “perfect”. Cadence has to accept that she will never fit in how her family wants her to be and that’s okay.

Traumatic brain injuries have a large effect on everyday life. One of the hardest things to overcome is memory loss. Here is an article that Cadence might read to help her regain memory.

One of many themes of this book is, "don't let others tell you who to be". This is a theme because Cadence is very different from her "perfect" family. Cadence is always being told what to do and being told what not to do. She thinks differently than the people in her family which later gets her into some trouble. Cadence helps develop the theme "don't let others tell you who to be" by doing something that no other family member would ever think about doing. There are many families in real life that except their son or daughter to be perfect or expect them to do exactly as they want them to do.

Overall I would say We Were Liars is a very well written, exciting book. In the beginning it is confusing because Lockhart doesn't give us background until towards the middle of the book. But after I got through the confusing parts, everything started to come together. Although the whole book was good, the last 10 pages is where everything happened. We find out what happened to Cadence, why she did what she did, and why her family has been acting so different.

I would recommend this book to people who like romance, mystery and excitement. We Were Liars, is a very easy book to read but it still provides thrilling parts to make the book worth reading. The twisted end gives the book a exciting and mysterious feel which I would recommend to anyone who has a want for the feel of thrill.
