Due to the not good political and financial situation in France at the time, King Louis XVI is forced to summon the estates general to a gathering. The Estates General was sort of like a panel made up of all 3 estates or classes in France-the clergy, nobility, and the commoners. They together had the power to decide on new laws and taxes. It is similar to that of Congress in the United States today.

The Third Estate of the Estates General, typically the commoners, realized that if they alone tried to make any reform by themselves, they would immediately be outvoted by the higher two classes. This is true because though the 3rd class has much more people, all classes only receive one vote when casting, so the higher classes would team up and use their votes against the 3rd class. So they broke away from the other 2 estates and met in a tennis court, where they vowed to not separate until there was a firm constitution in France, the King then ordered the other 2 estates to join them, this created the National Assembly.

The third estate citizens of France had become very angry and the King and his misuse of power. The stormed the Bastille Prison which kept people who were seen as disloyal and dishonorable to the King and the Monarchy. By stromingthe prison, the wanted to challenge the power of the Kings authority and start revolt among the lower class. Due to the little defense surrounding the prison, the citizens were easily able to break through and storm the prison. This event ultimately set the French Revoltuion into motion.

When King Louis XVI called the assembly to a meeting to tax the 1st and 2nd estates, the estates only received 1 vote each, even though the 3rd estate has a far greater population. So the 1st and 2nd estates would team up with eachother so they wouldn't have to get taxed. As well, the storming of the bastille and the rise in other 3rd estate riots and revolts led to overall increased violence in France. So in an attempt to lessen this, dukes and lords from a across France denounced feudalism and ended the feudal system so all the classes would be equal to eachother, thus reducing class based violence.

At this time, people in France are fed up and tired of the economic hardship and famine throughout the area, while the King is thriving with all the food and money that he could ask for. The women's march started when someone at a banquet in Versailles trampled on a flag in response to the revolution. As a result, a mob of women formed to capture the King and his wife Marie Antoinette, and force them to come with the women back to Paris as Prisoners of the National Assembly.

A moment of the French Revolution when King Louis and his family managed to escape from imprisonment of the National Assembly in Paris. They made it to the town of Verennes, but were ultimately captured and returned to Paris. This event showed that the King could not be trusted and increased the hatred by the public for the monarchy. Further deepening the conflict and marked the King and Queen traitors of France.

After King Louis XVI was overthrown by the people of France and brought to prison in Paris, he was put on trial and convicted on numerous accounts of treason, he was then executed publicly by the guillotine. With his execution, a long period of uninterrupted French monarchy was officially ended. As well as the beginning of the period of the first French Republic.

Napoleon led his army into Italy heavily outnumbered, he was facing up against the heavily armed Austrian and Piedmontese armies. His grand plan was to isolate them both and fight them one at a time so he would have a numerical advantage instead of them joining forces to crush the French. When he carried out his plan and won, he demanded gold and silver as a reward, which he then paid his soldiers with, it was the first real money his army had seen in a very long time.

Napoleon's campaign in Egypt was mainly focused on establishing a French colony in Egypt to threaten the British colonial holdings in India and other parts of the world. Though the French initially performed well early in the campaign with victories, it ultimately ended in defeat and the Egyptian territory was retained under the Ottoman Empire's control.

Upon the crowning of Napoleon as Emperor of France, it signaled the birth of the First French Empire and the Imperial Bonaparte Dynasty. By being elected to the throne, it was seen that he governed with the consent of the people of France, rather than in his own interest.

This battle during the Napoleonic Wars was one of Napoleon's greatest victories. His army was far outnumbered by the Russians and the Austrians, whom they were going up against in battle. The French ended in victory, forcing the Austrians to make peace with France. This was the first engagement of the War of the Third Coalition, leading to more battles in the future.

This conflict was a naval engagement between the French and the strong British navy. The Spanish also fought alongside the French, to give them help. This battle happened mistakenly, as the French were on their way to fight in Italy and ran into the British on the way. Britain won the battle with no ships lost, their victory proved that Napoleons plans to invade and conquer England would never come true.

When Napoleon entered Russia to invade the land, the Russians simply refused to engage in battle with the French, retreating. The Russian roads were bad and not easy to travel on so the French army could not haul their supplies all across the land to maintain themselves. The troops were also not prepared for the harsh Russian winters, which took a heavy toll on the French army. This failure of an invasion of Russia ultimately slowed Napoleon's march across Europe and led to his first exile.

This was a battle fought between France and the other powers of Europe. It was Napoleon's final defeat, fought during the 100 day period of Napoleon's restoration. He lost the battle and ditched his Army to return to Paris, where King Louis XVIII was given the crown, officially ending the Napoleon ruling Era.

This island is where Napoleon Bonaparte was sent into exile after the British caught him trying to escape to the United States. He spend around 6 years on the island before he eventually died, ending the presense of Napoleon on the world.
