The Burj Khalifa, Dubai

The Burj Khalifa also known as the Burj Dubai, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It has a roof height of 828 m (2,717 ft), and with its antenna included, it stands a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) making it the tallest building in the world. I visited Dubai during the summer of 2009, it wasn't far from Nigeria so the flight was really quick. We stayed in an hotel for a week and I was able to also see the palm islands, went to the Dubai mall and also say the Burj al Arab which is another magnificent building. I went to see the Burj Khalifa with my family on the 3rd day, It has 140 floors in total and it takes about one minute to reach the 124th floor which is where the observation deck is, from here you are able to stand on a clear surface, overlooking the whole of Dubai and it feels like you are flying, I'm very scared of heights so I didn't stand on it because I would have thrown up or probably passed out. The building was very shiny, it lights up at night and when you stand at the bottom of it, you can't see the top because it is far up in the sky. This building speaks me because it brings the thought of "The sky is the limit" to reality because the building stretches far above the sky and even people on airplanes can see it.

The Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt

The Sphinx is located in Egypt and it is an historic structure that was built out of limestone, the sculpture is of a creature with he body of a lion and the head of a human. The purpose of the sphinx is unknown and many people have different theories as to why it was built and who it was for. Visiting the sphinx would be a surreal experience because it is a very old structure and seeing something that has been there for generations is not only cool but interesting. The sphinx speaks to me because of its very mysterious nature, there is nothing like it anywhere else and it is incredible that humans built such a magnificent structure.
