There are about 2000 graduates since the programme was initiated in 2001. However, the challenge has been the equal distribution of this workforce. Most of the graduates are located in urban areas than rural areas.

There is critical shortage of HR for health in Tanzania ranging about 50% of the required level. To worsen the situation; most frontline staff in preventing and control of epidemics are demotivated by poor working environment plus unsatisfactory renumerations.

Nevertheles, the bright future is seen..the new regime is increasing the employment vaccants for HR for health and better remenurations!
