3. Social groups are formed through interests, values, and ethnic backgrounds. 
4. Social groups and social categories are different. Social categories are when people don't interact but still have similar characteristics. Social groups interact with each other.
5. You aren't part of a social group until you identify yourself as a member, or if you're chosen to be in the group. 
6. Social groups are made for people with similar goals.
7. Primary groups are the number 1 social groups. All the members are emotionally attached in some way.
8. All people are involved in a lot of different social groups.
9. Secondary groups come after primary groups and is a larger group of people and are less emotionally attached.
