6CO₂ + 6H₂O + Sunlight = C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

This process is called
photosynthesis and is the main reason that we are alive because when other animals eat the plants, they absorb the sugar and store it as fat. When we eat the animals or plants, we absorb the energy and use it to keep us alive. If plants weren't a thing, we wouldn't be alive.

In order for a plant to harness the energy it has produced, it uses cellular respiration to break down the sugar into CO₂, H₂O, and ATP.

C6H12O6 + 6O2 = 6CO2 + 6H2O + 36-38 ATP

ATP, also known as Adinosine Triphosphate, is like a solid form of energy. The plant is turning the sun's energy into energy the plant can harness.
