I would like to have better independent practice resources pulled.

I use the “routines” provided by HMH, but only do each one 1-2 times a week.

I would like assessments that match our report card better, and help pulling good resources from the platform for independent and group practice that match our report card segments and state standards.

I am going to use more vocabulary with my students. In January I learned about the fluency passages so I will start that now.

My routines are where we discuss, share, model, small groups, and reflect. I begin teaching my routines at the BOY. My classroom is a safe space as well.

Last year was my first year teaching reading.. (except when I taught kindergarten over 18 years ago. I am open and working to dive in to learn new information.

As a support teacher, I can incorporate some HMH skills into my lessons. I include phonics skills which help students improve their reading skills. It sounds like Waggle needs to step up their game and make sure it can be used to support student learning .

I think really taking advantage of the time I have in both my literacy block and my reading groups will help me in using HMH with fidelity. Some things I do as a whole group can become a small group, which frees up the time and allows me to get to everything I need to do.

My routines involve teaching, modeling, individual practice, small groups, collaborating, and assessing.

I will be spending more time on the reflection piece this year as it is something I haven’t done as often in the past. I’m excited for my students to get to really consider their learning progress and think deeply on what they are learning and understanding. I definitely need to spend more time digging through all the hmh resources available as well.

I can better implement HMH in my literacy block with fidelity by gaining a deeper knowledge of all of the components, supports, and extensions. Some instructional routines that I currently practice include using tangible letters and white boards to aid my phonics instruction. I use the arts (acting out/motions/expressions to and with each other) to aid with vocabulary instruction. I use lots of partner/small group throughout lessons and as a tool to formally assess ongoing.

I haven’t used HMH reading in the past so I need to spend some time unpacking the curriculum to incorporate it in the routines I have used previously. I like the ticket out the door idea to use with Eip / Ai to check for understanding of what we have been working on. I also want to make sure to work with the homeroom teacher in order to make the best use of the time in the classroom

With being EIP, we used UFLI which provides phonics and reading instruction so students can receive daily practices and routines in a small
