What are the values of the utopia Jonas lives in? The values are Obedience and community because everyone, in the utopia acted together to the voice of the speaker after the pilot incident. Also another value is respect because the citizens followed the orders given. And finally the last value is responsibility because the pilot made a bad mistake and is responsible for it.

Giver Twitter #2 Prejudice

Both the story of the sneetches and the book the giver show prejudism. Both of stories show prejudice in them because in the book The Giver. It shows prejudism, from the scene when Jonas talks to Larissa and Larissa tells him that Edna a person that was recently released was a birth mother, and she wasn't smart because she was a birth mother. That is prejudism Larissa judged Edna because she was a birth mother. To compare to this the reading of the Sneetches shows the same thing because the star bellied sneetches thought they were better than the plain bellied sneetches because they had stars.

The apple that Jonas and Asher were playing with changed color not any color a shaded color, and this apple represents, that the the citizens are cared for as children to adults. And how there is no signs of violence as well. The apple means that everything is healthy. Also the apple represents change as well because when jonas turned twelve he now has to get a job and that's a new beginning because he is now getting ready to become an adult.

Some of the things that the Utopia forbid are having a relationship with a girl that you are not assigned with, also the Utopia forbids having any sexual interaction with that person. If any one of these rules are forbidden you are released from the Utopia.

Station 1- The receiver's house

The receiver's house is more different than the houses in the utopia because the receiver's house has locks that give the receiver (meaning Jonas) privacy. Also the receiver's house has speakers that can be turned off with a switch which still goes with the concept of privacy. Finally the receiver's house has nicer furniture which makes the receiver (meaning Jonas) more comfortable. All of these differences are needed because Jonas has to have this because he has to use his mind to get those memories and you as a person has to be comfortable to be able to.

The process of transmitting memories goes like this this you take your shirt off and leave your pants on and socks. Than the Elder receiver or The Giver puts his hands on your back while your relaxed. And the Elder gives the receiver the receiver the memory. The first memory Jonas received was the memory of snow.

This statement Jonas said means that Jonas thought there was no other world before the world they live in now. Jonas was basically confused because The Giver told him that there was a world that looked different long ago. So Jonas with confusion basically told the giver that statement so he could get an answer. The world now isn't really the good way to live because in the Utopia it isn't as fair as the world before the utopias were introduced to the world. And living like there is no other world will give a child no history about the world before the utopias.

Jonas was surprised when the giver turned the speaker off and locks the door because usually the people in the utopia really don't have privacy. And Jonas is surprised because he never experienced that in the utopia until he became a receiver. So the people of the Utopia are watched because you can't turn your speaker off and the speaker is the way that the people that own the utopia hear you and respond to you. Also you as a citizen can't lock your door because the people have to watch your every move.

The title "The Giver" is significant and symbolic to the book. The title is significant to Jonas being a receiver and to be that receiver The Giver has to train him and help him on the way. The title is also symbolic to the book because The Giver is the one who thought Jonas was a fit for the Job and again he trained him.
