Hello, I'm coordinator of a work-linked training center. I have about a 100 students between 15 and 25 years old. They come to school 2 days in a week and get training in a company for 3 days a week. If they aren't ready yet to go to a working place we offer them courses to get prepared for the labour market. A lot of our students dropped out of the normal educational system. The school is equipped for 150 pupils, mainly from disadvantaged social backgrounds (98 percent from all the students comes from Roma community) and environments. The whole school complex includes a primary school (age 6-16), practical school for young people (age 16-18), and kindergarden.
One of our biggest problem is „earlier school leaving“, specially for kids from roma settlements.

I'm currently working in the Department of Vocational Education with students aged 14-16 who are at risk of early school leaving.
My expectations from seminar are: to learn necessary and efficient skills to prevent students’ dropout and early school leaving; to learn new strategies for working with unmotivated, emotionally vulnerable or behaviourally difficult students that have poor self-esteem; to learn how to establish a fruitful cooperation with parents of students dealing with drop-out problem.
