Something that resonated with me from this short video was how passionate everyone was. I think that it really takes someone who cares about their job and their students to be able to stand up like this. It was really interesting to hear about the individual thoughts on the matter and everyone seemed to care a lot and want to advocate to fight against censorship in school libraries and for students' right to read.

The dispositions of the school librarians were all calm, thoughtful and well spoken. The message that resonated with me was when the school librarians said that most people are supportive of libraries and diversity. They encouraged librarians to tell their stories of students they have helped to find the right book at the right time. Their message inspired me.

I definitely agree with Angela- what struck me the most about the video was how passionate everyone was. I actually teared up a little bit at the end- "We are school librarians! We are standing together!" Librarianship is so incredibly important, as is creating a safe space in schools where students have intellectual freedom and the choice to read what they want. Seeing school librarians talk about standing together to fight against book challenges and censorship is incredibly inspiring, and it makes me proud to be entering this field.

The film was very short, however it felt strong and inspiring. I think I really felt a sense of community while they were talking and it was very motivating to want to be a part of their group. I noticed how many librarians who were there supporting the cause, it was nice to see all of them wanting more for their library programs.

One thing that really stuck me about the video was the sense of community and support that the librarians feel among one another. They feel a sense of duty and responsibility to their students but are not going to let anyone feel alone when facing all of the changes that are affecting their field. It is really exciting to be entering into a field where everyone feels so connected to one another through their profession and a shared sense of ethics.

I felt as though I could start a wonderful conversation about librarianship with anybody in the room, their enthusiasm is evident. The disposition of wanting to help is what I like about the librarian community.

One of the points shared by a librarian that I really liked was the urgency to share your stories with others. It's important to make it known how impactful the library can be and that if experiences in the library can make a difference for even one student, then it's worth standing up and fighting for.

Something that really stuck with me from this video was the idea that we need to continue to tell our stories- what happens in the library each day, the students that you see and help every day. I love that idea because a lot of people might not truly understand what librarians do, and speaking up and explaining that, will help spread awareness and support of librarians/libraries.

While watching the video, I was excited to see how dedicated everyone was when speaking on the impacts of libraries around the country! It was impactful in a way to see each states flag on stage and realize just how large of a population the library career is and how many people will be hurt by legislation.

One thing that resonated with me was the call for communication and teamwork. It's true that we should be speaking out to what happens in our libraries and the good we see and are able to bring each day. We need to help one another.

The first thing that I notice about the different people who speak throughout this video is passion. The passion and drive they have to help others to have their voice heard and promote freedom of reading to everyone. There are two statements that impacted me. The first one is about "tell you stories" as librarians. I am often reminded of the "Harm of a single story" TEDTalk and this just remind me of that. Getting your voice out their and discussing how your library impacts you and people is important. The second statement that impacted me was "..need to choose where we stand.." on certain issues and I really agree with that statement. Clear strong stances on what we can do to help one another is a way for all of the librarians to help each other stand united.

The concept of mission-driven work really struck a chord with me. Librarians are passionate educators who show up every day--not just for one class of students, but for the entire school. They are there for everyone--students, teachers, administrators, and the broader community. Librarians are the backbone, offering support, encouragement, and fostering curiosity. They enrich the minds of those eager to learn, as well as provide an escape for those seeking adventures in the pages of a book. What stands out to me is the focus on student well-being and the overall student experience in the library, making sure that each individual feels confident in the tools and resources available to them. We should also focus on the well-being of one another like they said in the video "We are school librarians, we are standing together."

The video really made me want to be in a room filled with school librarians passionately cheering about their commitment to their job and each other. This type of unity and community is what will get the profession through the "unprecedented time" mentioned in the video. Coalition building will create a bloc that can't be ignored.

Seeing the passion and thought that each librarian expressed was very inspirational to me. The increase in legislative measures to restrict intellectual freedom resonated with me the most. This is a very real and legitimate fear, but it is assuring to know how many people have a vested interest in expanding these rights.

I really like the idea that school librarians are all connected with similar goals of standing for intellectual freedom and fighting for literacy. It is true that many voices are more powerful than one, so I think that noting in the back of our minds that despite being in what might feel like an isolated position as a school librarian (since likely as a school librarian, you will be the only librarian in the school), we all do have a community of librarians around us that all want to support each other and work towards similar goals. During the times that you feel alone in your work, remember that you are not!
