The article's viewpoint and conclusion are that there is a strong and unique relationship between education levels and cultural practices, and the education system's effectiveness largely depends on individuals' familiarity with the art world from family education. Moreover, the education system plays a role in reinforcing and solidifying initial inequalities.

Question：It mentions how the education system legitimizes the reproduction of social classes by transforming social hierarchies into academic rankings. What role does this legitimization play in maintaining social order? Additionally, does this imply that the transmission of cultural capital is replacing the transmission of economic capital and means of production, becoming one of the mechanisms for reproducing class relations?

This article mainly discusses the issue of racial politics in university music. The author points out that school music often systematically excludes too many people, allowing racial domination to persist by denying the significance of race. The author argues that if music scholars and educators recognize the close relationship between race, racial identity, and power, they will have a framework to explore how school music shapes race.

Question：It mentions that the classification and ranking of music contribute to racial inequality. How do these classifications and rankings affect university admissions and educational programs?

racial, age, and identity transitions

This article mainly discusses the racial, age, and identity transitions experienced by Black men and first-generation white male college students during their transition from high school to college. The research found that first-generation white students could carry their identity strategies into college, while the transition complicated integration and identity for Black men. These processes supported the college goals of white males but weakened those of Black males, increasing their emotional costs, undermining academic support, and hindering their ability to build satisfactory adult pathways. The author argues that high school identity experiences are crucial for college identity processes, as intersecting expectations can change unexpectedly across different groups. Therefore, more attention is needed on the relationship between high school and college identities and how intersectionality complicates identity processes.
