Growing up, I was mostly exposed to the American Pop Culture as my mother wanted me to start learning English as young as possible so that I wouldn't have a hard time understanding it as I grew older. Because of that, I became distant from Philippine Pop Culture at the time because I was so used to watching English TV shows and movies, listening to English songs, and even talking to my parents in English.

But as I grew older, I eventually got into the world of Philippine Pop Culture! From Bratz to Tekken, I was open to playing to different kinds of games.  There wasn't a specific genre of game that I stuck to.

But eventually as I got older, I stopped playing and focused on other interests instead that I felt were more appropriate for me at the time.

And then because of my college friends, I was influenced to go back into gaming which lead me to discovering Filipinos that are involved in the Gaming Community. Recently Team Secret, a Filipino ESports organization, was able to compete in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), which is a well known event in the Valorant gaming industry. 1. Esports gaming offers excitement and delight while serving as a form of entertainment and an escape from daily activities.
2. The competitive nature of eSports gaming drives players, who look to victory to gain respect, status, and a sense of success.
3. People can meet others who share their interests, make friends, and feel a feeling of belonging in the eSports gaming community.
4. Esports gaming presents opportunity for players to improve their problem-solving and hand-eye coordination skills as well as their ability to learn and adjust to new game features.
5. Some people get satisfaction from watching professional video game play and cheering on their favorite teams or players during eSports contests.

The Philippines' esports gaming market has expanded dramatically in recent years as a result of its quick expansion, rising investments, players' professionalization, global recognition, boost to the economy, youth participation, and infrastructure development. Talented people now have the chance to make a career out of gaming, and Filipino gamers are becoming well-known and successful abroad. By creating jobs and fostering tourism, it has also had a beneficial effect on the Philippine economy. Infrastructure improvement has helped the country's esports industry flourish even further.
