It is extremely crucial to build relationships with your students in order to make them feel comfortable and ready to learn. Steps I could take to do this would be to include days where all the students get to bring in pictures or anything that is special to them. I would love to have discussions with the class and myself in order to get to know each and every child. I think that a lot of the lessons link to others and it is important to remind the students of that. It is also important to remind them that being reflective has so many benefits that can help them in life and school. Listening and is an extremely valuable tool to use as a human in general in order to understand a situation or another person. I think that really listening students helps realize that they are just little humans who don't mean harm. I think that being open minded is crucial and is something that cannot be left out.
