Kennan expresses heavily anti-communist thoughts in an article he writes called "The Sources of Soviet Conduct." He says these things under the name "X," to maintain anonymity, leading to the article being labeled as the "X Article." It inspired the Truman Doctrine, and though being written in January, wasn't published until July of 1947.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

After the two major countries withdrew, the northern half of Korea invaded the south, and after seeing how underprepared the south was, the U.S. stepped in. This led to a somewhat of a proxy war between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.</div>]]></description>

Seeing this, the USSR and China backed North Vietnam, while the U.S. backed the other half. Just like Korea, the U.S. saw this as another chance to stop the spread of Communism.</div>]]></description>
