     Sweeping the house on the first three days of Tet is sweeping away your good luck an fortune. Cleaning will be the same result. Be extra clean before Tet so that you are prepared and can clean after tet is over. Cleaning before Tet can also gets rid of demons, bad spirits, and bad fortune.
2. Breaking
     Be careful not to break anything during Tet. When you break something, that represents bad damage, loss, and misfortune. Keep stuff that can break easily out of kid´s reach and vision.
3. Borrowing and Lending
     Borrowing and lending money  during the first three days of Tet symbolizes you´ll be poor during the rest of the year while lending money represents you giving your luck and fortune away for the rest of the year.
4. Some food should be avoided
During Tet, eating certain food can bring bad luck to the new year. Examples of this is shrimp which swim backwards. Eating shrimp means your year and plans will most likely stall. Some other foods you shouldn't eat is duck and dog.5. Entering the house
Your new year will either bring good luck or bad luck depending on whoever enters your house first. You should arrange for the richest and luckiest people to enter your house so that your home will be blessed for the year.

Dumplings is one of the most important food for Chinese new years. Dumplings are important because their shape looks like a Yuan which is a currency use in ancient times, people also believe that it can bring wealth for the new year.
Spring rolls: spring rolls are important for Chinese new years because people eat it to welcome a new spring in a form of a roll which is why they call this food spring rolls.
Decoration
Lantern: is one decorations during the lunar new years and they can be made using different types of materials like bamboo, wood, metal, etc., people hang them up on the twelfth day of the first full moon because they want to worship their god which is named Buddha.

Festive tree: people usually get a tree and decorate it with red lanterns and red envelope. The Chinese people do this so they can bring in wealth and good luck for the new year.


Paper cuttings: People in the new years, usually cut out red paper and try to make shapes and pictures and hang them up on the walls, doors, windows, etc. for the good fortune it can bring. For the good fortune to come it depends on the shape or picture, so if you cut out a pine tree than you get eternal youth for the year.

The year of the horse is in the seventh position in the Chinese zodiac cycle. People who are born in the horse can be  animated, active and energetic. They always love to be in the crowd and they have a sense of humor! the horses loves to take the center of the stage and delight the audience anywhere, but horses can be cunning which is the reason why they have lack of confidences. Also, They can be a little self-center, but it doesn't mean they can't be interested in other's problems.

Rat
The Year of the Rat is the first in the zodiac cycle. People who are born in the year of the Rat always can adapt easily in new environments and with the strong imaginations and curiosity, Rats tends to put their hands at anything. for the ladies, they are very intelligent, lovely, and beautiful...but they have the lack of courage and leadership.
 

Tiger
The Tiger ranks the third of the animals in the zodiac cycle. People who are born in the year of the tiger are brave, competitive, unpredictable, and self-confident. Also, they can be charming and well-liked with others, but sometimes they can be very stubborn, impetuous, irritable, and overindulged.

Dog- The people who is born in the year of the dog is usually loyal and honest because a dog is loyal and kind to his or her master and even though they try to comunicate with others they leave the person to question what they just talk about and thy are redy to help anyone in need.

Goat- the people back then thought that a goat is shy, stable, sympathetic, amicable, and brimming with a strong sense of kindheartedness and justice, and even though they seem soft on the outside, they are strong in the inside and even tough they want to be in a group, they don'twant all of the attention.

The children and most adults would receive a red envelop called Lì-xì. Lì-xì is an envelop that have money inside and given for luck, but there are rumors that if you open the red envelop...you would be in very bad luck. the luck can grant health, growth, and good studies in the coming year.
 
2. Tảo mộ/rước vong linh ông bà
Before New Years, people clean up their lost and love ones tomb or grave and clear everything for the special day.  After that, they would give their grant and respects to their lost ones and worship for them.
 
 

3.Tân niên
Recent years, people have begun to go to mountain temples to wait for the first ringing of a bell which is an announcement of the New Year! On the day of the New Year, fireworks would be flying up through the sky and families would be watching and enjoying the bright and colorful fireworks and firecrackers would be set, making loud popping sounds. children and adults stay up late night til the firework die down.

4.Giao thừa/lễ Trừ Tịch
During New Year Eve, Families would be around a temple or Shrine to worship their ancestors. The way they worship their ancestors is they would be kneeling and bowing in front of the wall-mounted shrine or grave, from the oldest to the youngest. Offerings food, drinks, joss sticks and joss paper are placed in front of the shrine/grave. During that day, All family would have a feast and they would have traditional dishes like dumplings or sticky rice cakes. While they are having dinner they would be watching watch the CCTV New Year Gala to see when the New Year arrives, featuring traditional, folk, and pop performances from China's best singers, dancers, and acrobats.
   
5.Dựng cây nêu
New Year trees are decorated trees similar to Christmas Tree that are displayed to specifically celebrate the New Year. Before the New Year, People would be buying the tree for a decorations for the house for Tet. There's some tag that might have this sign " 吉" which stands for good luck and the peach flowers stands for good relationships and love is one of the relationships, so it's also a wish for love.

It's said that the person who is the zodiac sign ox is diligence, dependability, strength and determination.

A king named Hùng who adopted the orphan boy.The orphan boy was renamed Mai An Tiêm. He grew up, got married. The couple were sent to the jungle by the king where he built a house and harvest rice. People grew to envy Mai An Tiêm. They fed lies to the king that Mai An Tiêm did not respect him. Also that all his fortune was only god's hard work. Mai An Tiêm and his whole family were sent to an isolated island with only dried fruit. They got fresh water. Along side some crabs/shellfish. A home was built with rocks and sticks. One day a bird dropped some black seeds. Mai An Tiêm immediately planted them when he saw them. Those seeds blossomed into watermelon. His family ate thus fruit while also casting them in the ocean with writing. They were found by trade-ships. The fruit was exchanged. The king heard of this news then he invited his son and family back. He was rewarded and taught the people how to plant watermelon.
