I have just seen that you are retiring! I suspect telling you you're not atually allowed to leave won't make much difference, so all I can do is leave what I hope is a nice message. Our paths have crossed several times, as you know, firstly when I was an undergraduate on the  English Studies BA from 1997 - 2000, where your lectures on Shakespeare stuck in my mind much longer than the texts they were based on. We then met again in 2014 when you interviewed me as part of the PhD recrutiment panel, nearly 15 years later, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunities that that acceptance has made in my life since! Now working at Hallam, your input into the doctoral supervision training delivered with the same wit and humour I recall from those Shakespeare lectures. You will be very much missed, and I am forever grateful for the impact that your teaching has had (and continues to have) on my life.
