MyChart Bedside is an Epic based application that allows for patient's to be actively involved in their care and serves as a communication outlet. The patient is able to view their medications, vital signs, care team, lab results, and much more. Patients are also able to send messages to their nurses and physicians, as well. Patient's can also access educational handouts and videos that are specific to their diagnosis.

I believe the MyChart Bedside application can highly benefit the patient and increase satisfaction with their care and overall hospital stay. I believe patients will have a better understanding of their diagnoses and current health status. The tablets will also allow for a communication outlet for patients to communicate with nurses and physicians. Overall, I think implementing the use of bedside tablets with MyChart Bedside will help provide the best patient care.
