Tri means three and foliata means Leaved or characterized by leaves. So the trifoliata means three leaves. Scientists assign names like trifoliata to highlight distinct traits.

Obviously, this quilt was embroidered with square which formed by stripes, displaying the beauty of symmetry. However, after looking carefully the surface of that quilt, the difference of colors can be noticed. That "differences" cause the quilt not perfectly symmetrical. From the explanation, I knew that is because the shortage of the raw material. I was shocked that this brilliant artifact was made in that kind of situation.
