The similarities 'Johanna in Jamaica' and 'The night of San
Juan' it that both kids wanted to go somewheren but their parents wouldn't allow them to go where they wanted to go. The differences is that each child wanted to go somewhere different ,and in NSJ , a freind helped Jose Manuel to go where he wanted to go and in Johanna in Jamaica she wanted to go to the mermaid festival but her parents said it was forbidden to go to that festival and she had to be a good swimmer and also responsible .Another similarity I found it that both storys had to do with water .And in NSJ

So the differences between Johanna in Jamaica and Nights of San Juan is that Johanna in Jamaica doesn't show much, just a little email about how Johanna is going to go to Jamaica and maybe even go to the Mermaid Festival. Nights of San Juan however contains six chapters and tells the story of how 3 sisters helped a boy finally convince his grandmother to let him play in the street.
The similarities are that both Johanna and Jose want to go somewhere but they cannot go to that place because of their parental figure. And oh look, I'm using big words, wow aren't I really cool. Anyways this is the end of my little report, sayonara!
Just kidding! So anyways back to my report, Johanna in Jamaica took place where we have technology, where the future has advanced. Where we have robots for toys, where we have phones to tell us the time. Nevermind Johanna in Jamaica just takes place in the 2000s. Nights of San Juan however takes us back to the 1940s, note even sure what on earth in the 1940s, I got nothing... but anyways, some more slight differences are that Johanna in Jamaica takes place in Jamaica while Nights of San Juan takes place in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Pretty neat huh? So i kinda am running outta things to say and I also am brain farting so um... yeah I'm just running out of ideas. So Johanna in JAMACiAAAAAAAA. Oh dear, please forgive me for that

They also are both going to be at there Grandparents house. They want to go to a fiesta celebration but can't an till there parents say they can go. I think the best similarity between The San Juan and Johanna in Jamaica is that they set a lesson that you have try before you give up and they got to go to the festival with there friends because they tried.

Jose from Nights of San Juan is forbidden to go play on the streets because his grandma said that it was too dangerous.

There are many similarities and differences in Johanna in Jamaica and The Night of San Juan.

The first similarity is that Juan and Johanna are both forbidden to do something. Juan is forbidden to play outside on the street and Johanna is forbidden to go to the Mermaid festival until he/she can swim and is respectful. In the story they both are going to an ocean. Johanna is going to a festival at an ocean and Juan is going to an ocean to celebrate a holiday just like Johanna. The differences are that the problem they are in is a bit different. Juan is forbidden to go play outside on the streets. Johann is forbidden to go to a festival unless he/she can swim and be respectful. They both are disappointed that they can't do something, but in the end it sounds like they both get to do what they want. In The Nights of San Juan Juan goes with friends. In Johanna in Jamaica to is one person that wants to go to a place.

First of all, one of the major differences between the two stories is the plot. In Nights of San Juan, the three girls are trying to get Jose's grandmother to let him go out for once. Meanwhile, Johanna in Jamaica's plotline starts off with figuring out that the main character is a young girl trying to go to Jamaica.

In The Night of San Juan and Johanna In Jamaica similarities are the person that weren't letting the kid in the story do a certain thing like in The Night of San Juan the grandma wont let Jose play outside because she says there is to much cars and the concrete is to hard and in Johanna In Jamaica the parents wont let the boy swim. The differences are in The Night of San Juan is there Is not a mom or dad that takes care of Jose his grandma takes care of him, in the story Johanna In Jamaic

(Floraliz)There are alot of similarities between "Johanna in Jamacia' and "Nights in San Juan",but the one similarity that sticks out to me the most are the characters.I chose this because, like Jose,Johanna wants to go somewhere that is "forbidden".Johanna wants to go to the festival, but her dad dosen't think she's ready. In "Nights of San Juan" Jose Manuel's grandma dosen't want him to go outside'but he wants to play with other kids. That's what I think the similarities are.

My thoughts about "Johanna in Jamaica" and "The Night of San Juan" 🕊

Night of San Juan is different from Johanna in Jamaica because Night of San Juan is a story that could happen in real life, but a bit different. In the story, there is misbehavior and risky things like asking without permission. But in. Johanna in Jamaica it's a letter to someone. Johanna is talking about wanting to go to the mermaid festival, trying to be good and not bad, and proving people wrong. The similarities are they both are trying to do something they really wanted to do. They both try to behave, help, think, and having a good time. They both are doing their best to get something they want to have. I noticed that they do some risky things.
MacKenzie Lovchik🐥
