But, listening to this song makes me remember how great life is. I consider myself a pretty positive person and other people think of me in that way too. This song represents and radiates all of the positivity and hope and optimism in the world. Doug struggles to understand the circumstances of his new life and wants things to go back to normal. While I have never experienced this exactly, I am someone who has had to adjust to changes in my life. I can relate to Doug which makes this book reflective of me. I am not a person who likes change. I like things to stay the same as they were and have a hard time moving onto something different. It often takes me a while to get used to new things, but once I do get used to it, I am better for it. That's what happens in this book. This book reminds me that change is inevitable and will happen whether you like it or not. Bruce is saying that he wants an important person in his life to wait for him no matter what because he would do the same thing. It's a love song that describes how love is about relying on the other person whom you love. This song relates to me because I had always thought that true love meant relying on another person and needing that person in your life to feel complete. I have always tried to rely on others in my life because there are things I know I can't do alone. This song is about respect. The ability to respect a person to help them and expect them to help you in return.
