Addressing hunger and malnutrition is vital for global health, economic stability, and breaking the cycle of poverty, with regions like Central and East Asia showing progress in reducing food insecurity. However, significant challenges remain, particularly in Africa and South America, and achieving the SDG to end hunger by 2030 is crucial to overcoming these barriers through sustainable agriculture, support for small-scale farmers, and international cooperation.

Ending hunger and malnutrition improves health, well-being, and development for individuals and communities.

Hunger weakens immune systems, limits cognitive development, and hinders economic opportunities, perpetuating cycles of poverty.

Ensuring access to nutritious food enhances education, economic growth, and social stability.

Achieving Zero Hunger is essential for building a more equitable, prosperous, and sustainable world.

The Zero Hunger goal is vital, as progress is uneven, with vulnerable areas still facing hunger due to environmental and economic challenges.

The article explores the challenges and potential solutions for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2 by 2030, emphasizing the interconnectedness of food systems with climate change, geopolitical crises, and global inequalities. It highlights issues like unsustainable farming practices, power imbalances in supply chains, and shifting dietary patterns that hinder progress. Recommendations include creating a global governance framework, reforming supply chains, promoting sustainable farming, and encouraging nutritious, plant-based diets. Achieving SDG2 requires a holistic, multi-level approach addressing food production, distribution, and consumption simultaneously (Sporchia et al., 2023).
