Con's: sometimes it can be untidy and difficult to understand the written points. -الطريقة غير مكلفة لانها قد تدرس حالة معينة واحدة.
-تساعد في تكوين و اشتقاقا نظريات و فرضيات جديدة و يفتح الباب امام دراسات بالمستقبل .
-يستفاد منها في عمليةالتنبؤء
العيوب :
-لايعتبر علميا احيانا بسبب تحيز الباحث 
تستغرق وقتا طويلا مما يؤدي الى فقدان اهمينتها 
-دراسة حالة منفردة قد لا يجوز تعميمها على الكل 
-من الصعب تصفية و تحليل البيانات .
-عدم صحة البيانات جميعها .
