Genocide is a mass killing of a huge group of people. The Genocide occurred in Western Sudan in a city named Darfur. February 26, 2003 was the day that the Darfur Genocide occurred. The Darfur Genocide has still been going on today as Darfur's die everyday, but started in 2003. The Janjaweed's were the most major perpetrators of the Genocide. The Darfur men, women and children were the victims in this whole mess. This map shows that location of the Darfur Genocide. During the Genocide 300,000 people had been killed.

According to Gale Student Research it clearly states "Beginning in 2003, conflicts between rebel groups and government-backed militias led to as many as two hundred thousand deaths, and the dislocation of over two million refugees, in what many call the single worst humanitarian crisis in Africa's history." This proves The Sudanese Air Force (militias) changed what happen by conflicting between rebel groups, and killing close to two hundred thousand deaths because of what they had did. The Air Force (militias) dislocated refugees, a little over two million. People were and are effected by this, they even have called it the "single worst humanitarian crisis in Africa's history." The picture down below shows Darfur people runing away from a burning village.

As reported by Levy Janey she declared "Soldiers bombed a village or town, then the Janjaweed moved in. After the Janjaweed were finished, soldiers killed or captured anyone left alive." This states The Sudanese Air Force changed how the Soldiers fought and what they did to people. They bombed towns and villages, and just let the Janjaweed move in. The saddest thing that the Soldiers did was kill anyone who was left alive. So they basically just took there land and killed or captured anyone who was trying to stay alive. This shows all the burned down villages.

In agreement with Mitchell Hamline informs us "Both China and Russia have worked to block many United Nations resolutions in attempts to appease the Sudanese government." This explains he Sudanese changed how the soldiers worked to block many United Nations resolutions in attempt to appease the Sudanese government. China and Russia worked to increase the Sudanese government to help but the Janjaweed just burnt down villages and towns. This picture shows the Sudanese government.

According to Zoe Lowery she informs "When the people of Melos refused, the Athenians attacked the island, killed all the men, made slaves of the women and children, and gave the island to Athenian settlers." This shows the Genocide outcome affected its people by killing all the men so they would be no work. Slaved the Women and Children to do work, also the Athenians took there land and gave it to Athenian settlers. These are women and children who had no place to go and no food to eat.

As stated by Mitchell Hamline she declared "Following independence from Britain in 1956, Sudan became embroiled in two prolonged civil wars for most of the remainder of the 20th century." This proves the outcome of the Genocide affected the people by embroiling in two prolonged civil wars that went on for most of the 20th century. This shows the independence that Sudan gained from Britain in 1956. These are children who were taken away from there mothers and being captured.

As reported by Mitchell Hamline she believes "The most successful talks thus far took place in Abuja in 2005-2006, leading to the Darfur Peace Agreement (DPA)." This clearly states the Genocide affected people by having successful talks about the Darfur Peace Agreement. It took place in Abuja in 2005-2006 but it affects lots of people. The people had changed, like home, food, schooling and work wise because of all of this. This picture shows children doing school work in a court yard.
