         <description><![CDATA[<div>Kino:  Chapter 5<strong> "I am a man."</strong><br>Characteristics: Fisherman, Mexican Indian. At the beginning of the story, Kino is nice and calm but after he finds the pearl, he turns into a greedy, dangerous, selfish man. <br>Juana:  Chapter 1 <strong>"Kino had wondered often about the iron in his fragile, patient wife." </strong><br>Characteristics: She's a devoted mother, Fisherman's wife, Mexican Indian, patient, and fragile. In the beginning she was fragile and not that tough and towards the end she was tough and she had been through a lot. </div>]]></description>

He believes it is the most valuable pearl in the world but all the pearl does is bring evil to him and his family. In the modern world, it is bad to be greedy. It makes you selfish and mean. The story can teach readers not to be greedy.</div>]]></description>
