Organisation: I run my own business, "Štošta", specializing in education and music events.

E-mail: info@stosta.hr

Background:

I am a pedagogue and a trainer/facilitator from Croatia. I work as an external associate with the Croatian National Agency, mostly implementing and facilitating non-formal educational programs. Also, I teach at an adult education institution, where I prepare and train school assistants who support pupils and young people with disabilities in classrooms. In addition, I collaborate with schools as well as with other (cultural and educational) institutions and NGOs.

I bring experience from the field of youth work, gathered through various training courses, workshops, and educational programs. My engagement in different projects in/with schools has given me valuable insights into how formal and non-formal education can complement one another. I also bring experience from both sides of the spectrum: as an “insider” who was working with local government, I understand the policies and frameworks that shapes formal education and youth policies. At the same time, my role as a youth worker in NGOs, particularly through EU projects, has allowed me to engage directly with young people in non-formal settings. This dual perspective enables me to contribute meaningfully to exploring collaboration between these two educational approaches, fostering a more inclusive and holistic vision of development in the field of education.

Beyond education, I’m also a DJ! I love combining my two passions - music and inclusive learning through using creative methods, so I created an interactive workshop “Basics in DJing”, which I am offering and implementing, especially for youngsters with fewer opportunities.

I’m very happy to be part of this Conference and to co-facilitate the programme in Brugge, together with my colleague Sunčana. I look forward to meeting you, learning and sharing with and from you, and contributing to this meaningful and important field of inclusion and diversity in a cross-sectoral way.

Many greetings to all & and see you soon in Belgium! :)

At the International Office, we are mainly in charge of organising different kinds of international academic experiences for our students, as well as incoming students from WU partner universities. While in my role I mainly focus on short-term academic experiences, I have been part of the taskforce for inclusion within our team. Our main goal is to provide outgoing students with fewer opportunities with information and support necessary for their stays abroad. This includes, for example, communication with our inclusion office, info sessions on options and support measures for this student group, coordination mechanisms with our partner university, as well as acquiring financial support for students in need. We aim to ensure an individual approach to all students, and help tailor the international academic experiences to their needs. I am a certified special education teacher (in Romania, United States of America and United Kingdom) with 25 years of experience (22 years in Romania and 3 years in United States of America - within a cultural exchange program). I have worked with special needs students with different types of disabilities such as learning and intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, hearing and visual impairment, speech and language impairment.

Currently, I provide specific therapies for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). My objective is to establish an optimal level of cognitive, socio-emotional functioning and adaptive behaviors, in relation to the emotional and social needs of each student.

I develop and implement Personalized Individual Programs for each student, I use Special Therapies, Speech and Language Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

The contents of my activities are a response to the educational needs of each student. I try to find out ways to provide the best possible social integration and a viable socio-professional insertion, which will ensure them an autonomous and dignified life.

Integrating autistic children into mainstream classrooms and society is a challenge for us.

Our school is a boarding school and provides supportive and specialized learning environments for children aged 3 - 16 years with multiple and severe learning difficulties, hearing impairment and autism spectrum disorders. We have 130 students, 56 teachers, 24 support and auxiliary stuff and 8 administrative stuffs. https://centrul2sibiu.ro/

The school prides itself in providing innovative learning techniques to meet the wide-ranging needs of our children and pprograms tailored to our children individual needs. The school also offers psychopedagogical, psychological and counseling services in the field of special education to direct beneficiaries (preschoolers/school children with disabilities, but also to parents, teachers, and members of the local community).

At our school we try to find different ways for the inclusion of these children with autism spectrum disorder in the mainstream school classrooms. This requires a comprehensive approach including teacher training, individualized support plans, and creating a supportive school-wide culture. Effective integration relies on collaboration, respect for diversity, and continuous monitoring to ensure children feel valued

I hope to gain new knowledge on inclusion and diversity so I can help my special education students face integrating in social environment.

I am looking forward to meeting you as I have never been participated in an Erasmus project.

My email: didiana17dia@gmail.com

Phone number: 0040734400494

My work focuses on areas such as cultural heritage preservation and the New European Bauhaus, environmental protection and the European Green Deal, active aging, and healthy nutrition.

In 2023, under my leadership, the NGO obtained funding to transform a degraded area in Kuldīga’s Old Town into a traditional 19th–20th-century-style garden. This garden now serves as an inspiration and learning space that promotes adult education in the Kuldīga region. The project was designed to encourage community participation and to mitigate the effects of gentrification following the inclusion of Kuldīga’s Old Town on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Given that many local residents are seniors, pre-retirement individuals, and young families with limited financial means, such community-based projects play a crucial role in fostering inclusion, pride, and motivation to live in the historic town centre.

ilzeizarinai@inbox.lv

Hi everyone, I'm Hans, and I work as a curator of arts in/as education. Previously, I was an artistic coordinator at Musica Impulse Center (BE), where I designed formats that promote musical participation and development for all ages and in different contexts. I have also been a violin and creative music teacher, besides pedagogical coordinator in arts education. From the beginning of my career, I have been involved in a wide range of educational projects in formal and non-formal contexts and have contributed to several publications on (music) education. I have worked in the arts sector, in schools and in teacher training programs. I teach Introduction to Art Education at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. I think that music, in all its forms, has a deep integrative power and sheds light on what it means to be human, to learn and to teach.

contact@hansvanregenmortel.art

Hello! I’m Dries Vansteenkiste, principal of De Passer in Bruges, a secondary school for students with autism (OV4 Type 9).

At De Passer, we offer highly able and average-to-high-ability students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) a full secondary education programme based on the same curriculum and learning standards as mainstream education. What makes us unique is our specialised support, structured learning environment, and strong focus on the specific learning needs of students with ASD.

Our students successfully transition to higher education or integrate into regular living and working environments. Internationalisation is an important part of our vision, and we actively build international partnerships to broaden perspectives for both students and staff.

During this conference, we participate in two ways:
• as a participant, to learn and connect
• as a good practice site, open for visits on Wednesday morning

Before joining De Passer, I worked at the University of Antwerp, closely collaborating with Piet Van Avermaet, one of the keynote presenters. During that period, we conducted research on teacher professional development for inclusive education and the role of effective collaboration practices.

👉 Feel free to explore our website and contact me by phone (+32 468 22 25 30) or email (dries.vansteenkiste@de-passer.be).

I look forward to explore potential collaborations with you.
