We all approach education differently and from diverse perspectives as prospective early care educators. A variety of resources, such as our understanding of child development, our own experiences working with children in various learning situations, and the writings of early childhood theorists, have an impact on our teaching style.
It is helpful to become familiar with the different curriculum and teaching techniques. In this Padlet, we will talk about the two main ECE curriculum types: the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Brirish curriculum. Part of it involves analyzing curriculum and learning methodologies. In this Padlet, we'll talk about the two main ECE curriculum types: British and Ministry of Education (MOE) curricula. It comprises curriculum reviews and the creation of design tables that illustrate the relationships between the various components of an integrated curriculum.

Curriculum integration is a way of taking into account the goals of education, the history of the curriculum, and the applications of knowledge. The curriculum is also made to search for linkages in every way.
According to Capelluti (1995), curriculum integration is based on a comprehensive theory of learning. It recognizes that pupils need to be able to see the bigger picture rather than needing learning to be divided into digestible parts. An integrated curriculum disregards traditional academic boundaries in favor of exploring the subjects that are most important to the students.
The integrated curriculum also emphasizes how crucial it is to make a clear connection between the experiences kids have both inside and outside of the classroom and the educational possibilities they are given. (New, 1992)

Curriculum integration also prioritizes life itself over the mastery of many subjects contained behind topic-specific boundaries. Its basic tenet is that learning is the process of continuously assimilating new knowledge and life experiences in order to deepen and broaden our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. It concentrates on life as it is experienced now rather than preparing pupils for a future life or higher level of education. It doesn't really address the specific interests of adults as much as it does the youth for whom the curriculum is intended. It is concerned with the active construction of meanings as opposed to the passive assimilation of other people's objectives. Beane (1995).

When it comes to academic accomplishment, kids who use integrated techniques perform on par with or even better than those in traditional schools. For than a century, research at every grade level has yielded evidence that consistently leads to the same conclusion: deeper learning is fostered by an integrated curriculum. According to Drake and Reid (2018), "deep learning" is the transition from surface learning and content coverage to an in-depth comprehension of a subject with the learner taking the initiative in their own learning.

Every educational system's curriculum is its cornerstone. It provides justification for the method of achieving a goal. Selecting a certain curriculum represents the institute's goals and vision. While curriculum differ, the goal remains the same. supplying the child with the knowledge and skills needed to deal with life and the workforce. It is necessary to understand the child's surroundings, manner of life, and future expectations while selecting a curriculum. The MOR ECE curriculum is used in the UAE, however.

All of the essential academic and life skills that children (ages 3-5) should learn are covered in the MOE ECE program. The curriculum includes disciplines taught in Arabic, such as Arabic language, Islamic studies, and social studies in the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the core ideas of science, arithmetic, and English. With the aid of this program, kids can successfully navigate their surroundings and learn the foundational skills necessary for success. The first eight years of a child's life, when their cognitive development and awareness of their environment are at their highest, are the focus of the Early Childhood Education curriculum.

This unit plan may be specific to a given location, or it may have been updated or expanded upon after my last edit.

For the most accurate and up-to-date summary of the "Al Warda" unit plan in the MOE ECE curriculum, I suggest referring to the official resources provided by the UAE Ministry of Education.

In the UK, curriculum creation is inextricably linked to the political and cultural climate of the day. The fact that nearly every element of the UK school system today (aside from the legally mandated age ranges for schooling) would be nearly unrecognizable to a teacher from twenty years ago may come as a shock to readers in other nations.

This level of change has never before been possible and accomplished through legislation and statute, frequently with minimal levels of research, consultation, and teacher involvement. It speaks much about the political psychology of the major actors in curriculum development as well as the loose, anarchic conditions that prevailed for the majority of the 20th century. There are obviously boundaries to this chapter. It covers the curriculum within the confines of the school system's mandatory age range, which is currently from age 5 to 16 (though the post-16 curriculum is mentioned when appropriate), and the majority of the discussion relates to the circumstances in England. Analysis and contemplation are restricted to the years following 1944.

Despite being of excellent quality, the MOE curriculum might be more regionally focused.

Language of Instruction:

Given the language setting of the United Arab Emirates, Arabic is frequently included as a substantial component in the MOE curriculum. English is the primary language used to impart the British curriculum.

Educational Philosophy:

The MOE curriculum may include certain educational ideas and beliefs from the United Arab Emirates, customized to fit the requirements of pupils in the community. The educational traditions and guiding concepts of the British curriculum are unique.

Assessment Methods:

Although assessments are used in both curricula, there may be differences in the precise formats and techniques.

recommendations for enhancements to the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum in the areas of timing, outcomes, evaluation, and observation:

Outcomes:

Recommendation: Establish a balanced emphasis on cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor domains by integrating Bloom's Taxonomy levels to create a more comprehensive and quantifiable set of learning outcomes. This entails outlining not just the knowledge that students will acquire, but also the abilities they will cultivate and the ways in which they will apply it.

Rationale:

A methodical framework for developing distinct, hierarchical learning objectives is offered by Bloom's Taxonomy. Through the integration of critical thinking abilities like analysis, synthesis, and evaluation, the curriculum guarantees that the results cover a wider range of knowledge.

Evaluation:

Advice: Use a varied evaluation strategy that incorporates formative and summative evaluations. To provide a more comprehensive picture of students' development and abilities, emphasize the integration of peer, project-based, and authentic assessments.

Rationale:

Diverse assessment approaches are in line with contemporary philosophies of education, such Assessment for Learning (AfL). It makes it possible for teachers to get a more nuanced understanding of their students' areas of strength and growth, which promotes a flexible and individualized approach to teaching.

Observation:

Recommendation: By offering professional development opportunities that center on efficient observing approaches, educators can be encouraged to adopt regular and methodical observation practices. Promote the use of technology to make data collecting and processing more efficient.

Rationale:

Training in conjunction with systematic observation guarantees the validity and dependability of the data that is gathered. Furthermore, incorporating technology improves the effectiveness and precision of observational methods in line with modern teaching practices.

Timing:

Recommendation: Give students' learning schedules more leeway in order to accommodate their different learning styles and speeds. To encourage creativity and autonomous inquiry, strike a balance between structured and unstructured learning activities.

Rationale:

Educational philosophies that emphasize customized learning and differentiated instruction enable flexibility in learning schedules. Each student can advance as best they can if their unique learning cycles and styles are acknowledged and accommodated.

These recommendations are meant to improve the UAE MOE curriculum by focusing on particular areas such as results, assessment, scheduling, and observation.

Through a variety of techniques, the Ministry of Education's (MOE) curriculum seeks to increase students' interest and involvement. These include using technology, addressing individual learning profiles through differentiated instruction, incorporating real-world examples, incorporating diverse learning styles, encouraging inquiry-based learning, incorporating interactive and collaborative activities, providing clear learning objectives and feedback, incorporating cultural relevance, fostering positive teacher-student relationships, and allowing flexibility in learning pathways. These techniques seek to establish a stimulating and motivating learning environment for pupils, encouraging a positive outlook on learning and the development of lifelong learning habits. The MOE curriculum can foster a lifelong learning habit and a favorable attitude toward education by implementing these measures. These techniques can be added to the MOE curriculum to make learning enjoyable and productive for all students.
