His real name is Edward Teach. He was born in Bristol, England in 1680. He died in Ocracoke Island in North Carolina in 1718. His base was in North Carolina Inlet. His victims came from the Pamlico Sound. Blackbeard quickly became one of the most imposing characters of American folklore.
     His ship the Queen Annes Revenge was as infamous as him. And until recently it was lost to the sea. The wreck is the only pirate ship wreck ever to be excavated. And his ship was the most powerful, holding 250,000 bits of lead shot, 400 cannonballs, dozens of grenades, and many muskets, as well as a total of 40 English and Swedish cannon. She is the middle child, out of three children. She spent her younger years on a small farm near Camden. She is known for her research in marine algae and her books and documentaries designed to raise awareness of the threats that overfishing, and pollution pose to the world.
She is an ocean explorer and oceanographer who set the record for deepest dive without a tether using her JIM suit.  She has done research on algae in the Gulf of Mexico and also founded Mission Blue.  Mission Blue is an organization that’s purpose is to protect the oceans from further climate change, pollution, habitat destruction, and overfishing.  She's a pioneer in the use of scuba gear and in developing deep-sea submersibles.  Sylvia Earle was the first woman to lead the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration.

He became a certified diver and writer, and he has explored many shipwrecks. He previously was a police officer and participated in intense training for his security duties. But, leading up to all these occupations, John lived a weird lifestyle. At a young age, he took part in being a loan shark and owned nightclubs, resulting in him making a lot of money. Even with making thousands of dollars from this, he was completely consumed in pirates and old shipwrecks. Mattera discovered a famously lost pirate shipwreck along with John Chatterton, called the "Golden Fleece"  John Mattera is a writer and an American Shipwreck explorer.  He was one of two divers who made it their goal to find the Golden Fleece.  The Golden Fleece is a pirate ship that is in the waters of the Dominican Republic.  John Mattera became a certified diver in 1976, and he fell in love with diving and ocean exploring since.  He loved exploring the North Atlantic Ocean and was an early pioneer in exploring the waters around New York and New Jersey.  He performed penetration diving and decompression diving far before technical diving had made a name for itself.  In the late 1970s he explored some of the most famous shipwrecks off the northeast. He was born in Italy as the son of a merchant. Columbus got a job on a merchant ship and spent his childhood on a boat until 1476. In 1476 his boat was raided by pirates, and the ship sank. Columbus floated all the way to shore on a wooden plank. He arrived in Lisbon, studying mathematics, astronomy, cartography, and navigation. He began his plan to change the world forever by sailing across the Atlantic ocean. No one believed it was possible, but Columbus thought otherwise. The Spanish monarchs were the only people who supported him. Columbus was seeking fame and wealth. On August 3, 1492, he set sail on his three ships: The Nina, The Pinta, and The Santa Maria. On October 12, the vessel finally found North America, but he assumed it was one of the Bahamian Islands. He traded among the Native Americans and set sail back to Spain. After he returned to Spain, all his fortune was received, and he had many sponsors throughout his subsequent voyages. This made him one of the most famous explorers of all time. Christopher Columbus died May 20, 1506.

She was previously known as Ching Shih, and while she was a pirate, she married a pirate captain. When her husband died, she took over his fleet and men while obtaining the title of captain. She had 3 children and ended up marrying her late husband's adopted son. 
During her time in power, she commanded a fleet of approximately 40,000 to 60,000 pirates and over 400 ships. Around the time that she negotiated her surrender to the Qing Dynasty, she had commanded a little over 1,400 men and 24 ships. He entered the Ecole Navale and graduated as a gunnery officer. 
He was in an automobile accident that broke both of his arms which forced him to discontinue his plan to become a naval pilot. Got a passion for the ocean.
He served on a battleship called the Condorcet. Jacques married Simone Melchior on July 12th, 1937, and had two sons: Jean-Michel and Philippe. 
He Took refuge with his family in Megeve, France during World War 2. 
 Cousteau met a guy named Marcel Ichac. They shared the same desire to show the people the unknown.
They created the first French underwater film called "Par Dix-huit metres de fond (18 meters deep)"
They also made the film Epaves (Shipwrecks) using the first Aqua-Lung prototypes.
 Cousteau is credited with improving the Aqua-Lung design which later created the open-circuit scuba technology used today.
 Made a book called "The Silent World: A Story of Undersea Discovery and Adventure" in 1953.

Great inventions and His Discoveries:  
Aqua Lung: As a young man, Jacques Cousteau was deeply interested in the ocean. His love grew fonder after his fatal car accident because he started rehabilitation by swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. He started freediving but started hating his limited time underneath the waters. So, he experimented and eventually created scuba technologies. He tested with closed-circuit rebreather devices, but caused him constant convulsions, still frustrated, he solved the issue with a diving regulator. Jacques created the first open-circuit breathing machine called the “Aqua-Lung.” 

Diving Saucer: Jacques Cousteau and Jean Mollard (engineer) invented the “diving saucer,” which held two people into the depths of the sea. This is one of the famous research vessels in Cousteau’s, Calypso. This invention helped explore the shipwrecks of the HMHS Britannic and the Titanic. Although it went deep into the ocean, it never went deeper than 980 feet due to safety reasons for the passengers. In this mini, Yellow Submarine, the divers had to enter from the top and lay on a mattress to look at their surroundings through pod holes.  

Shark Cages: He was one of the first men to use a shark cage, which he invented, to research shark behavior. In 1956, he released his documentary called, The Silent World, in a shark cage. Cousteau’s shark cage was not very secure as the one in the modern day, but he is the pioneer of this invention.  

Calypso Photo Camera: This camera photographed underwater images easily and clearly. The brand Nikon wanted to produce these cameras outside of Europe. Calypso soon rebranded into Nikon.

Underwater Habitats:    Cousteau wanted to accomplish the challenge of divers living underwater for long periods of time in Underwater habitats. On the coast of France, Conshelf I was constructed in 1962. Conshelf II was constructed in the Red Sea. Conshelf II remains underwater to this day but is covered in coral and rust.

He was the son of a Scottish farmhand and in his early life he worked at a general store in Whitby which brought him closer to the sea and ships. At the age of 18 he was an apprentice for a well known shipowner, John Walker. In 1752 he was offered an high ranking job as a commander but instead he volunteered as a seaman in the Royal Navy. At 29 he was made master of HMS Pembroke. During the Seven Year War, he saw action at the Bay of Biscay and was given command of one of the captured ships. After the war ended he commanded Greenville while surveying the coast of Newfoundland. Lastly in 1766 he observed the eclipse of the sun and sent all of the details to the Royal Society which is in London.
In 1768, the Royal Society was Commanded by James Cook. The Royal Society was the first scientific expedition to the Pacific Ocean. James Cook was ordered to convey they men of the Royal Society to Tahiti and observe Venus cross in front of the path of the sun creating an eclipse. On June 3, 1769, Cook set sail south to find the southern continent Australia which used to be called Terra Australis but was unsuccessful. Between 1772 and 1775, James Cook had one of the most important voyages where he sailed his ship to circumnavigate the globe.  James Cook also charted Tonga and Easter Island and discovered New Caledonia, South Sandwich Islands, and South Georgia islands. He also discovered that Terra Australis existed only in the mass Australia, New Zealand, and what islands are frozen under the ice of Antarctica. The most important Discovery of James Cook is his discovery of Antartica.

James Cameron was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada and grew up in Chippawa, Canada. Cameron is the youngest in his family and grew up closely with his brother. He is most famous for directing the movie Titanic and for being the first person to ever dive alone into the deepest part of the ocean, the Mariana Trench. While making Titanic, he went on many deep dives to get real life footage of the wreck of the Titanic. These dives were the reason Cameron became interested in deep-sea diving and why he ended up making his famous dive in the Deepsea Challenger submarine. It took Cameron over two hours to get to 6.78 km in depth. This dive also caused him to discover new sea creatures. Cameron found a new interest of going undersea and filming his findings. As of now, James Cameron is directing more movies and doing more discoveries every day.

His father was extremely keen on did going to college and earn to be a doctor but Charles thought otherwise, he claimed he never learning anything at the school and that it was a waste of time. He always wanted to keep exploring and learn new things about the world.  So he did…

At the age of 22, Darwin circumnavigated the globe for five years, exploring locations around the world on the HMS Beagle. Discovering a multitude of fossils, he contemplated and reviewed the mainstream scientific ideas of the world. Particularly challenging to the mainstream scientific ideas, Darwin discovered many fossils from extinct species. Darwin saw real evidence before his eyes of the Uniformitarian Position that the Earth’s crust is shifting, rising, and falling. After Returning to London, Darwin studied his findings and developed his theory of evolution via natural selection. This changed the field of biology forever, analyzing how every species evolved from a single common ancestor – from the plants in the soil to the fish in the sea.

His father was an adventurer who flew the highest in a ballon of his time. Following in his fathers adventurous footsteps, Jacques became enthralled with oceanography after receiving a physics and economics degree in 1943 at the University of Genoa. He would use this to help in the design of submarines and the study of ocean currents. Taking after his father's love of balloons and their workings, Jacques and his father worked on a technique used in balloons in an attempt to make a vehicle that would be capable of reaching the deepest depths of the ocean. In 1960 he would accomplish this, traversing with Lieutenant Don Walsh, into Challenger Deep, the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, that being the deepest point of the ocean, in the submarine that he and his father built. The dive down to Challenger Deep was roughly 5 hours and once they touched down at the bottom. However, before they reached the bottom, one of the outer layers of the plexiglass cracked, shaking the whole vessel due to the immense pressure. After they reached the bottom, they remained for 20 minutes.
