How does the author of "The Seventh Man" reveal the narrator's fear?

The author reveals the narrator’s fear by telling the story first. The author also tells us that in the narrator's “dreams” (292) he sees K. The narrator “moved” (308) also because of the incident. He still wakes up screaming and has “never married” (323) because everything haunts him. The author tells us that the narrator has been afraid of large waters, and will not swim after the incident, even after he has moved.
