The Carthaginians were a strong power but not built like the average ancient city. But rather were constructed as a trade empire. Their influence stretched across the Mediterranean and their strength was seen through naval superiority. <br><br></div>]]></description>

This was a innovation that allowed a bridge to be dropped and pierce the deck of the enemy ship. This latched the two ships together and allowed Roman troops to board the other ship. This was a naval tactic that gave the Romans an somewhat equal chance against the far superior naval power of Carthage.</div>]]></description>
