Jakub, Vojta

Vojta:
American cuisine is a mix of many cuisines. This is because of colonisation. Many Europeans came to America. Then their cultures mixed and so did their cuisine. Same thing happened when imigrants came to the US many years after. That's why some asian dishes are also popular in the US.
For example from British cuisine we have fish and chips and turkey, from Italian cuisine we have spaghetti, macaroni, pizza and lasagna, from mexican cuisine we have tacos and buritos. Fast food plays a huge role in American cuisine. Since capitalism became popular money did as well. And time is money so people needed to save as much time as possible. And that's when fast foods began to rise. Fast food began with the first fish and chips shops in Britain in the 1860s. And then heavily popularized in the 1950s in the US. Most fast food is junk food and is not good for us. There is a stereotype that Americans are fat, but difference between Americans and Czechs in adult population is just ten percent. Interesting fact is that hamburger, food that people associate with America, has origin in Germany and it's city Hamburg. Among the most popular fadt food chains are nowadays Mc Donald's, Subway, KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut and Domino's Pizza.

Honza2

On Christmas Day Britians have Christmas dinner usually at noon or in the evening. They have roast turkey with potatoes and vegetable like Brussels sprouts. All of this is followed by Christmas pudding. Christmas pudding is a special cake consisting of many incredible ingredients like beer, suet, carrots and breadcrumbs. Nowadays, the Americans eat roast turkey and pumpkin pie on the Thanksgiving Day. They wish ano another “Happy Turkey Day”. This is the day of gifts, charity and food for poor people. In Czech Republic there are a lot of sweets on the table, as well as fruit like oranges, apples, bananas and tangerines. Each family has their own recipes for the day but in general you should fast until the dinner comes to see the golden pig. For dinner most Czechs have soup, carp fillets fried in flour with egg and breadcrumb coating, potato salad. On the following day they eat usually roast goose or duck with dumplings.

Julie Kamila
Julie: Complaining about the meal
Complaining about food that was made by someone for us is never a good thing. But there are some cases in which we can complain. These cases are when we are in restaurant and we are not satisfied with the food we got. Even this complaining has got it’s rules.
1)	We should be polite. Don’t use rude words, it’s unacceptable. We should consider, that this is not the person, who made the food. This person just do their job, so be kind person.
2)	We should speak up right in the restaurant. Speak with waiter or manager. They will receive our feedback and it will help them improve their service. If we won’t speak up and just write review on internet, it maybe won’t change anything.
3)	We should speak up in right moment. When you don’t like what you are eating, then say it right at the beginning. If you eat the whole food, they can’t do anything about it. You ate it, so it couldn’t be so bad.
4)	Sometimes, there is no place to complain and we should just shut up. For example, when you expect something and they give you something else, but on google you find out that you were wrong then don’t complain. It is your fault.
I hope you won’t need this!
