History has made me understand why my parents made so many decisions...like the fact that my dad went to school without an ESL program as an immigrant, which taught him that he should reject his native language. As a result, he did not teach me English. We all have pasts we would rather forget than acknowledge. However, i associate with those you can acknowledge where we came from and how to atone and be better.
