         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dama Gazelle:  Dama Gazelles are mostly affected by habitat destruction, caused by humans cutting down the branches of the trees that they eat. Another reason for their low population is the over hunting of these animals, which has only increased in recent years due to vehicles being used (which means that hunters can keep up with the Gazelle’s fast speeds).<br><br>African Spurred Tortoise: This tortoise found in the Sahara has found itself susceptible to extinction due to people keeping them as pets. The illegal pet trade has heavily affected the population of the African Spurred Tortoise, and it has the species is now considered threatened, and may continue to get closer to extinction if the black market for pets is not stopped.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Buffelgrass and the Athel Tree  are both examples of an invasive species in the Sahara Desert because their seeds are blown in storms all over the desert allowing them to grow.  Buffelgrass is a threat to the Sahara because it is very dry and known to cause wild fires.  The Athel tree is used by animals to rest and to protect their bodies from the sun.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
